Privacy Policy.
Furshala ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use furshala.com, our events, and our shop, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using this website you consent to the practices described below.
1. Information we collect
- Contact details you provide voluntarily — name, email, WhatsApp/phone number, pet name and birthday.
- Booking details — number of attendees, food preference, your dog's vaccination certificate link.
- Payment metadata — order reference, status and amount. Card / UPI / bank credentials are processed directly by Razorpay and never stored on Furshala servers.
- Device & usage data automatically collected — IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages visited, clicks, time on page, and approximate location (city / country level).
- Cookies, pixels and similar technologies — including Meta (Facebook) Pixel and other marketing pixels, as described below.
2. How we use your information
- To confirm bookings and ship products you order.
- To send transactional WhatsApp / email updates about your booking or order.
- To run our event-day operations (vaccination verification, name lists, food count).
- To send event invites, drop alerts and birthday wishes — only if you opt in.
- To measure how visitors use the site, fix bugs, and improve content and design.
- To deliver and measure advertising on Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram) and other ad networks.
- To comply with applicable Indian law and to detect fraud or abuse.
3. Meta Pixel, advertising & retargeting
We use the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API (provided by Meta Platforms, Inc.) on this website to understand how our ads on Facebook and Instagram perform and to show you more relevant ads. The Pixel collects standard event data — including the page you visited, button clicks (e.g. "Book Now", "Add to Cart", "Purchase"), and a hashed (one-way encrypted) version of identifiers like your email address or phone number when you submit a form, so Meta can match your activity to your ad interactions. We do not send Meta any plain-text contact details, raw vaccination links, or your pet's birthday.
Based on this data, Meta and other advertising partners may show you Furshala ads on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp Status, partner apps and across the web, including retargeting ads after you visit our site. We may also build custom audiences and lookalike audiences from hashed customer lists (such as booking email lists) and share them with Meta solely for ad delivery purposes; these audiences are not used to identify you publicly.
Our use of Meta Pixel and Conversions API is governed by Meta's Business Tools Terms, Custom Audiences Terms and Privacy Policy. We act as a "Business" under those terms and the joint-controllership addendum between Furshala and Meta applies where required by law (e.g. GDPR).
You can opt out of Meta ads-related processing at any time:
- From your Facebook / Instagram Ad Preferences — turn off "Data about your activity from partners".
- Via the DAA opt-out or YourOnlineChoices.eu page.
- By writing to us (see Section 9) to request removal from any custom audience.
4. Other third-party services we use
- Razorpay — secure payment processing.
- Cloud hosting — Emergent Cloud / object storage for assets.
- Analytics — PostHog or similar product-analytics tools, with anonymised event data.
- Communication — WhatsApp Business / Telegram / email for transactional and opt-in broadcasts.
Each provider has its own privacy policy. We share with them only the minimum data they need to do their job.
5. Vaccination certificate links
The Google Drive link you submit at booking is used only to verify your pet's vaccination for the event. It is visible to our internal team and admins. It is not used for marketing and is never shared with Meta or any advertising partner.
6. Data retention
Booking and order records are retained for as long as needed for accounting, tax and warranty obligations under Indian law (typically up to 7 years). Marketing-list entries are kept until you ask to be removed. Anonymous analytics is retained per the relevant tool's defaults.
7. Children
Our website and events are intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. Children may attend events accompanied by a guardian; their details are not collected.
8. Your rights
You can request access to, correction or deletion of your personal information, withdraw consent for marketing, object to profiling, and request removal from Meta custom audiences. Email us at the address in Section 9 and we will respond within 30 days.
9. Contact
For any privacy question, data-access request or opt-out, contact us via our Telegram channel, WhatsApp channel (links on the Community page) or the contact email shown on the site footer once it is set up.
10. Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you via the channels you've opted in to.
